Ya, I live three blocks from the Nile

Hello Everyone!

Well, after a couple days of travel, and a busy first day, I finally have found an internet connection. Due to lack of time, jet lag, and the fact that it is 11 PM at night, this update will probably be short, and anything but exciting or inspiring. Nonetheless, here is a couple of quick highlights. First, I am in Cairo. Go ahead and say those words out loud and let them wash over your ears. This exercise will give you a small glimpse at my life over the past 24 hours. I have repeated this phrase at least a hundred times; yet, it doesn't seem to be sinking in. Second, I live 3 blocks from the Nile. Yes, The Nile. As in the famous river flowing through Africa; the river mentioned in the Bible and numerous other ancient texts. Yes, that one. Third, there is an amazing group of people here. I cannot wait to get to know them better.

More photos and updates to come. Stay tuned.

best,

Tyler

New Blog! New Blog!

Yes, like all good 21st century travelers, I have created a blog to chronicle my adventures. On August 25th, 2009 at 6:14 AM mountain standard time, I will embark to Cairo, Egypt--where I will be studying at the American University in Cairo. I will be there until December 10th. My plan is to use this blog to express thoughts, pictures, reactions, and, with any luck, a couple good stories. Thanks for stopping by.

So, with less than a week to go, the final preparations have begun. Get ready folks, it's gonna be big.
